With the DEX in place, users can stake NIM and receive stablecoins or BTC, or convert between assets entirely on-chain. Using native staking to fund services or perks is already technically possible; this allows building real products on top of it.
Following this milestone closely, it directly intersects two open community asks on the protocol repo: core-rs-albatross #3170 (a standard web interface for tracking staking rewards) and #3171 (validator reward-integrity guarantees).
The reason those matter here: on Albatross, all staking rewards go to the validator’s reward address, and the split between validator and stakers is an off-chain promise. Native staking products and liquid staking (Ae.3) will multiply the number of pools and derivative tokens riding exactly that trust layer so a standard, public way to verify that a pool pays what it owes becomes infrastructure, not a nice-to-have.
I run the ImpactZero pool (0% fee, auto-compounding) and have open-sourced the payout engine it runs (github.com/subimpact/nimiq-restake-bot). I’m currently building the ecosystem-facing version, a public payout-verification + rewards tracker any staker can use for any validator and will bring a Community Council funding proposal for it in the Proposals & Bounties category shortly. Would love this milestone to keep public verifiability of payouts in scope.
It sounds amazing. Happy to read your proposal very soon and thanks for contributing to the ecosystem!
Super excited about this - some additional discussion is also noted here: Receive NIM staking rewards in BTC or USDC/USDT or both!.
Totally! I think this discussion, and also some initial questions and ideas from @pls_enter were the inspiration for this.
