Project Description
Alphaday builds crypto experience dashboards for enthusiasts, developers, and projects. Users can drag and drop from hundreds of services, news and social feeds, charts, and dapp functionality to create their daily workflows inside a single dashboard. This eliminates the need to have multiple browser tabs open to get different bits of information. i.e. imagine having token prices, gas prices, twitter feed, latest news headlines, TVL, and any other information any user could possibly want all within one single dashboard.
We’ve conducted market research on users and currently people’s regular crypto workflows consist of jumping from one browser tab to another to check prices, read news, follow twitter, participate in discussions. A typical crypto user will have 6 to 10 open tabs at any given time and people have referred to Alphaday as the ‘tab killer’ because all the information you’d need across all your different tabs is available in Alphaday. In this sense, we do not have any direct competitor that can provide 50 different types of services and functionality within one dashboard.
We aim to create a dashboard that serves any Nimiq user, holders, developers, VCs, and pretty much any stakeholder whether they are completely new to the Nimiq ecosystem or an expert.

Project Team
I, Michael, have been involved in Ethereum from mid-2017 onwards and since last year I’ve been part of the team building Alphaday.
The founder, Deniz Omer, has been involved in the Ethereum space since early 2016 and joined Kyber Network in 2017 as Head of Ecosystem Growth before quitting to start Alphaday full-time in 2021. Previously he worked at Thomson Reuters for a decade building financial products that rivaled the Bloomberg Terminal. He is currently also a Venture Partner at IOSG.VC.
His co-founder, Felipe, has also been involved in Ethereum since 2016 and was a Developer Advocate at Pegasys and Consensys before quitting to work full time on Alphaday.
Alphaday’s third co-founder is DeFiDude who used to be a community manager at both Aave and Kyber Network before co-founding Alphaday.
Our team members have a proven track record of working in successful and growing Ethereum projects as well as extensive experience in the conventional finance world. We’ve also launched our beta product on time during the summer and have been consistently hitting our growth KPIs including growing 40% MoM in terms of MAU.

Milestone 1: Development and Deployment of the Nimiq Dashboard
Estimated Completion Date: 15th May, 2023
Budget: 1,100 USD
Creation of Nimiq ecosystem dashboard that aggregates the following information into a single community dashboard:
- The latest Nimiq official announcements and blog post content.
- A feed of all news mentions of Nimiq from coindesk, cointelegraph and 20+ other news sources aggregated from across the internet.
- A calendar containing all Nimiq events including Nimiq Governance votes, meetups, hackathons with Nimiq bounties, AMAs.
- Podcast feed containing the latest appearances and interviews given by Nimiq team members.
- Youtube stream containing educational Nimiq content.
- Nimiq Documentation directory, including API docs, Core documentation, as well as developer tools, guides, fundings/bounties, tutorials and other resources that they may require.
- Integration with Nimiq Forum to show the latest and trending discussion topics.
- Twitter, Reddit, Discord, & Telegram Integration to show a feed of latest discussions.
- FAQs, One-Paper & Whitepaper, NIM tokenomics information.
- Nimiq Team members’ information.
- A widget featuring the Nimiq roadmap with all the descriptions and links included.
- Links and descriptions of apps and other platforms (Oasis, Albatross) within the Nimiq ecosystem.
- Token exchange information, including NIM price feed, where to buy, and wallets.
Input by the Nimiq team is required pre-deployment of the initial dashboard regarding the widgets and content to be included.

Thereafter, we will improve the functionality and availability of features on our application as a whole.
Milestone 2: Maintenance and Content Curation
Estimated Completion Date: Daily / 12 months continuous (starting Post-deployment of initial dashboard)
Budget: 900 USD (75 USD monthly)
Continuous daily maintenance and curation of content of the dashboard by a specialist over a year.
Budget Details
1,100 USD upfront costs for development including integrating the discussion forums, blog post, social feed, jobs listing, TVL and other on-chain metrics.
75 USD per month for 12 months for maintenance including having an Alphaday content analyst quality-checking the dashboard every day and ensuring the Calendar widget is up-to-date with latest Nimiq events, all news mentions across the internet are captured by the dashboard, any updates not automatically captured by the Alphaday aggregator engine is manually added to the board, and other maintenance tasks.

We have received pre-seed money from Anthony Sassano, Mariano Conti, Signum, IOSG and a few other Ethereum-focused angel investors
We are in the process of applying for grants to further develop our app and dashboard. Some projects (such as Verasity, Impossible Finance, and more than a dozen others) have already approved to fund us and we are currently in the process of building their dashboards.
Additionally, we do not have a token and we are completely free for end users. We would like to charge projects to build dashboards for a small amount of money to cover our operating expenses.
Project Characteristics
Once we’ve created a Nimiq dashboard, we will promote this across the Nimiq community and start collecting feedback so that we can keep iterating and improving our dashboard. For us success is if a large number of Nimiq stakeholders come to the Nimiq dashboard to stay up to date with everything happening within Nimiq and then use the available data as jumping off points into the various parts of the Nimiq ecosystem. i.e. NIM holders using the board to finding trending governance topics to participate in, devs using the resource library to dive deeper into the technical documents, newcomers listening to the latest podcasts and exploring open job positions at Nimiq.
In terms of concrete numbers, considering Nimiq has 33K twitter followers and using this as a very crude proxy for community size, we would consider it a success if we could serve at least 3% of them on a monthly basis (~1K MAU).
The grant work will result in a dashboard dedicated to serving the Nimiq community by aggregating all relevant information about Nimiq including media communities, on-chain metrics, Nimiq academy, NIM tokenomics into one place. Our desired outcome is to provide a new end-point for community engagement and to bolster Nimiq’s outreach.
Alphaday and all its features will be free for users in the foreseeable future (and definitely for the rest of 2023). We may implement a premium user/subscription style fee that unlocks special features for users in the future.
Alphaday is a React-Typescript dashboard on the frontend using a Python-Django backend built on distributed infrastructure with Postgres and Redis Databases.
