Community Question: Are there plans to expand into the U.S. market?

Nimiq has been closely monitoring recent regulatory developments in the United States, and the outlook for crypto appears to be improving. The U.S. is naturally an attractive market for the industry as a whole and for Nimiq in particular, but it is also a large and highly competitive environment that comes with its own challenges.

Over the past years, we have established and nurtured marketing partnerships that allow Nimiq to reach crypto-affine audiences globally, provided the right and appealing products are in place. While the U.S. remains a market of strong interest and we increasingly consider whether potential partners are also active there, a strategic and structured market entry into the United States is currently not planned.

We expect that broader marketing activities will naturally increase Nimiq’s visibility and awareness, including within the U.S. crypto community. Therefore, investments in online marketing and improved visibility and reach are likely to also engage relevant audiences in the United States.

For the sake of clarification, just what are the primary markets that Nimiq is targeting?

Right now, Nimiq’s main focus is on:

Europe

This is where much of our existing user base, ecosystem activity, and partner network is located. Regulatory clarity in many European jurisdictions also makes it a natural priority region for further development and adoption.

Latin America

We see strong potential for crypto adoption in Latam, particularly for use cases such as cross-border payments, savings, and everyday transactions. We are actively exploring and building partnerships that can help Nimiq address real needs in this region.

We remain open to entering additional regions, including the United States, Africa, and other key markets, when the timing, regulatory conditions, and product market fit are right.

A decisive factor for expanding into new territories is securing strong local or global partners who can help us integrate Nimiq into existing payment, merchant, or fintech infrastructures.
