How to pitch Nimiq to new users

Here are some concepts to pitch Nimiq to new users, without falling into falsehood, but remaining faithful to its tech/history.

In random order:

  1. It comes from a 6+ years CPU/GPU PoW distribution, before switching to PoS. Lots of changing hands, as consequence of the need to recover mining costs

  2. Small Team allocation: 5% only, as Satoshi in Bitcoin

  3. The only PoS payment coin in the whole market (beside Nano, but you can omit it).
[The others are either PoW or PoS with smart contracts (thus not focused on payments]

  4. 1000+ TPS capacity on mainnet, top notch performance

  5. Annual Transparency Reports to see how finances are managed

  6. Easily spendable wherever BTC Lightning is accepted

  7. High PoS staking rewards

  8. Fixed supply 21B

  9. Low fees

  10. Browser-first approach: your browser is a node and you are a first class citizen of the Nimiq infrastructure

  11. Small money needed to become a validator (currently $100 about)

  12. Low hardware to run a validator (any $100 recent Raspberry Pi equipped with NVME is just fine)

  13. Cashlinks (to the bearer redeemable payments)

  14. The best complement for Bitcoin (miles better than the Lightning Network)

  15. “Memetic” potential with Nimiq identicons

  16. Nimiq Pay app, for both iOS and Android

  17. Nimiq Oasis (if it will ever come back)

Awesome pitch summary. Just a suggestion, I would add:

  • an element about the how the wallet is one of the easiest to use and access

  • as a beginner, it allows you to hold, swap, stake, buy 99% of crypto that you might ever need or at least should start with - the “holy” trinity of BTC (store of value), USDC (stablecoin) and NIM (fast & cheap payments and staking)
