Once a malicious actor get access to your access file or wallet, he or she can run a program to crack your password as fast as the system (software + hardware) allows it. Improving the security by increasing the minimum number of characters required by a password field would be a moving target, given the ever increasing computational power in consumer electronic products. The most secure way to store your NIM will always be a hardware wallet.
Keep in online wallets only the NIM that you can afford to lose
In the old Safe, if you wanted to retrieve the URL of your “Unclaimed Cashlink”, you just clicked on it, and then on “Show Link”. I can’t find that in the New Wallet? Was it removed, or is it done differently now?
Hi, the current value disappears after the wallet update, only historical value is visible.
I love NIMIQ and have supported the project for over a year now by buying and mining coins and your recent announcement of the staking rewards was great. However by not having a minimum requirement, even something small like 1000-3000 coins, ($3- $5 US) I feel there is little incentive to hold on to small amounts of NIM and with the yearly NIM chart on Kucoin you can see there has been a decline in price since the all time high. Will you consider a small requirement in order to receive rewards to create an incentive for smaller holders not to sell?
Just adding to my previous pending post… I would also favor a tiered POS structure. Nothing insanely lopsided. Something like a spread of 0.1% between tiers of say every 10000 coins. So like 100001%, 20000 1.1% and so on. There needs to be more incentive to holding on to coins. Its been a bloodbath in Kucoin ever since your recent high. You don’t have to post this but I think your long term supporters would agree with me on this. You should do a poll right in the wallet to see if the community would support this. I know miners and traders could care less but at least we could see a spike in buying and holding for a change.
Last time I heard about the minimum staking requirement (I’m on the waitlist too): 1000 NIM is future-proof however that might change, and staking pools might offer lower minimum requirements. Re-locking stake rewards is on their checklist too. I imagine checkbox to re-lock staking.
I am mining Nimiq and i didnt get rewarded😞
What are you using for mining?
Just one suggestion on the wallet to add Btc as a “fiat” currency view, just tired of looking at worthless currencies value.
Dear Nimiq Team
Still the best blockchain UX out there, undoubtedly.
Was trying out the new wallet on a Samsung S20 and having some trouble. Everything seems to work perfectly in a Chrome browser on a laptop however.
First, wanted to connect to my Ledger Nano X hardware wallet, but the whole experience seemed to loop, basically the connect via Bluetooth didn’t seem to work, and I was taken back to the start of the “connect to your ledger device” cycle over and over. Gave up. I have it working easily in a Chrome browser on a Windows 10 laptop with a Ledger Nano S device (USB cable connected). The Ledge Nano X device connects fine via Bluetooth with Ledger Live on the mobile device.
Next I wanted to give you this feedback - from the mobile phone running Chrome. This didn’t work either. After hitting the “give feedback” link I was taken to a login/create user page. Hitting create user gave me a number of options to log in with Facebook etc. I chose to create a new user with email, the old fashioned way. Once both login and password are accepted I could hit the sign up button, but nothing happened. Seemed like the page didn’t get response from the server.
Looking forward to all the new things your guys have in pipeline. And contemplating how I can integrate Nimiq in one of my projects. Keep up the good work
Hi Guio,
the button to show the link for unclaimed cashlinks only shows up if the Hub actually has the link stored. This is only the case for cashlinks created on the same device, if Hub storage was not deleted in the meantime.
I have put it on the TODO list to add a note in the Transaction Details when the link is not available, so that users don’t search for the hidden button.
Hi Søren! (nice name you have there )
thanks for your feedback! Unfortunately it is not yet possible to connect a Ledger X via Bluetooth with Nimiq’s Browser Wallet on a phone. We only support USB connections in the Browser and I believe that only works properly on Desktop. This is mostly due to incomplete Bluetooth support in mobile browsers by vendors.
We plan to get Ledger X support in our native (non-browser) Wallet app, which is due next year.
As for the sign-up problems: This seems to be the sign up of this forum that was the problem, as the link in the Wallet leads to this thread. You are posting here, so you have an account now. Did it work out then?
Regards,
Sören
Hi Sören. Scandinavian I assume?
Understood in regards to Bluetooth - assumed that was the case.
In regards to the other…
Well, it was only from mobile I couldn’t proceed.
It works fine from desktop.
So. That worked out.
Cheers
The first time that I saw the swap button showed underneath the current balance on the wallet, that is before the FastSpot swap feature was enabled, I thought it was going to be a slider so I wonder whether making the button a slider instead so that when it is released the selected values would apear on the actual swap window as presets would be a good Idea and perhaps save some time.
The image below shows how something like that could look like.
I don’t like one thing, you can’t fix the amount to be swapped by hand (or I don’t know how to do it), you need to move the slider and it turns difficult to fix the desired amount…
I agree with inputting a specific amount to swap with.
Hey Bittiriko, thanks for your feedback. Actually you can set the amount you want to swap manually in the inputs next to the + / - / ± symbols.
ok, I didn’t know that, thank you Matheo
