hey everyone
so for the past month i’ve been building NimBooks, the books for your Nimiq wallet. it started as a Mini App competition entry and i just kept going because people kept asking for stuff haha
the idea is simple. your wallet shows your balance, NimBooks shows you everything around it: where your NIM came from, where it went, what you earned from staking, and what you need for tax time
what it does today
- Balance in 37 currencies: live value of your liquid and staked NIM, including what Nimiq Pay keeps in its HTLC
- Staking inside Nimiq Pay: stake, unstake and track rewards without leaving Pay. as far as i know it’s the first app to do this in Pay. works in the browser through Nimiq Hub too
- History and Analytics: every tx labelled (stake, swap, cashlink, invoice, rewards), daily net flow, who pays you and who you pay. Nimiq Pay’s internal HTLC transfers are matched and shown separately, so your charts show real payments and not millions of NIM going in and out of contracts
- Payment requests: make a request link or QR with an amount and reference, anyone pays from any Nimiq wallet, NimBooks sees it settle on-chain
- Signed receipts: sign a receipt for any payment with your wallet, share the link, anyone can verify it
- Cashlinks: put NIM in a link and send it to anyone. they also open on hub.nimiq.com
- Yearly statements: opening and closing balance, received, sent, staking kept separate, CSV export
- Crypto tax: FIFO gains per year plus staking income in your own currency, with exports for Koinly, CoinTracking and CryptoTaxCalculator
- Portfolio PDF: add up to 10 more addresses and get one report with a grand total, saved straight from Pay
-
MCP server: for the AI people,
npx -y nimbooks-mcpand your Claude or other assistant can read your books. read-only, never signs, no keys. source is public at GitHub - subimpact/nimbooks-mcp: Read-only MCP server for your Nimiq books: balances, history, statements, draft payment requests. Never signs. · GitHub
try it
- in Nimiq Pay → Open NimBooks · Nimiq Pay
- in the browser → https://nimbooks.subimpact.net (sign in with Nimiq Hub)
- not ready to connect? tap Try with a sample wallet. it’s a real public wallet and everything is read-only
the honest bits
- it runs in your browser or inside Pay and reads public chain data. nothing gets signed unless your wallet asks you to confirm, and your keys never leave your wallet
- everything that was free stays free. the only gated feature is the new portfolio PDF, which unlocks if you stake 1,000 NIM or more with ImpactZero, my validator. you keep your NIM and your rewards, it supports the app, and it helps secure the network. you can try it free in the sample wallet
- tax figures are only as good as the history the chain shows. if you moved coins over from an older wallet, it tells you when the purchase price is missing instead of guessing
thank you
big shoutout to everyone who tested and pushed me: Paul Gertz (the HTLC fix), xFratta (pre-migration balances and loading big histories), Wool (the portfolio PDF and the 1970 date bug), Faadil Boussari and Harley NSpace. almost every update in the changelog came from one of you
i ship most days, so if something looks off or you want a feature, reply here or email [email protected]. happy to jump into any question
cheers!
