Nimiq Wallet in the new Roadmap

I’ve combed through the new Nimiq Protocol Roadmap but wasn’t able to find much mention of the existing Nimiq Wallet. Maybe a few bullet points from the team could be shared alongside the roadmap outline:

  • any new / specific plans for the Nimiq Wallet? Any emphasis on making it more open source and/or decentralized?
  • any new / specific plans to allow Nimiq App distribution without the use of centralized App Stores?
  • Will it be possible to create, and sign, offline transactions (similar to Nimiq Tools | Set of online and offline utilities), cashlinks, multi-sig?

I might be getting ahead of myself if the roadmap is more of a broad view and the Wallet more of the in-the-weeds solution to the big picture - but either way I find these questions to be of interest

The Protocol Roadmap is specifically documenting the milestones for the Protocol/Blockchain. The apps come next. The intention is to discuss both separately to make the discussion/feedback focused and organized. Take a look at these sections from the previous Blog Post:

One note on scope: the flagship end-user app has its own Roadmap, so it is not part of this feedback round, and the protocol threads are not the place for exchange or market questions…

What’s next

The protocol is one half of the plan. The new flagship end-user app is the other, and it gets its own post and its own round of discussion. This will take place after we’ve finalized the Protocol roadmap to keep the discussion focused and avoid overwhelming the Nimiq Community.
