An architecture decision. Today the app assumes that it manages your account. Letting a Mini App provide accounts is “not impossible and maybe even very interesting”, and it is a prerequisite for adding support for Ledger as a Mini App (Bf.1, option b). It needs to be decided before that option can be seriously pursued.
If added, this option will likely be restricted to Nimiq-provided Mini-Apps or highly trusted third-parties.
