Thank you for taking the time to put together this proposal. We appreciate the effort and thought behind it, and we recognize that Nigeria is a highly relevant market for crypto and stablecoin adoption.

After careful review and discussion among all board members, we have decided to not approve the proposal in its current form. We’d like to share our reasoning transparently so you can, if you wish, revisit and resubmit parts of it.

Our main concerns:

The proposal is too broad in scope for a single submission. Combining video production, X Spaces, real-life events, hackathons, and event coverage into one large project makes it very difficult for us to govern effectively — to ensure funds are used as intended and that deliverables meet an acceptable standard. We would need clearer milestones, detailed plans for each activity, and measurable outcomes. As it stands, some items (e.g. “Tutorials”) remain too vague to evaluate.

We also see limited value in X Spaces, which in our experience have not delivered meaningful results for the Nimiq ecosystem.

What we do see potential in:

We believe video content could bring real value — particularly if it’s in English, features correct captions, shows real-world use cases (e.g. using Nimiq Pay at local businesses), and is reusable across regions. We’d be open to funding a smaller, focused video proposal in the range of 2,000–3,000 USD, with the possibility of increasing the budget if the content proves to be high quality, gains traction, and can be repurposed.

Additionally, it would be great if all videos follow the Nimiq brandbook, including the correct use of colors, logo, and typography. This helps ensure visual consistency, makes it easier for the team to share and reuse the content, and allows both new and existing users to easily recognize the Nimiq brand.

If you’re interested in pursuing this, we’d welcome a new, narrower proposal for video content specifically. Including an example video would go a long way in helping us assess quality and style.

In summary:

We encourage you to consider breaking this project into smaller, standalone proposals — each with its own budget, milestones, and deliverables. That would make it far easier for us to evaluate, fund, and support individual pieces. We’d genuinely like to see good work come out of the Nigerian community, and a more focused approach gives that the best chance of success.

Thank you again for your initiative, and we hope to hear from you again.

Thank you for the thoughtful and transparent feedback — I appreciate the clarity.

I understand the concerns around scope and agree that a more focused approach will lead to stronger execution and clearer outcomes. That said, I’m particularly encouraged by your interest in video content and real-world use cases, as that’s exactly where I believe the strongest impact can be made.

I’ll be moving forward with a refined, video proposal centered on high-quality, real-life demonstrations of Nimiq in use — showing real people, real transactions, and practical onboarding in Nigeria.

The updated submission will:

Focus on quality over volume

  • Include clear milestones and measurable deliverables
  • Follow the Nimiq brandbook closely
  • Be designed for global reuse across platforms

I’ll also include a sample video to clearly demonstrate the production style, and real-world approach.

I’m confident this direction aligns strongly with what the Council is looking for, and I’m looking forward to submitting a tighter, more execution-focused proposal shortly.

Thanks again — excited to push this forward.
